Congratulations to the Varsity Competition team and coaches for finishing 4th out of 46 AAA small varsity teams. The team will next compete – and finish their season – at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in February.

If your cheerleader ever has an injury, please provide a hard copy of all notes (initial statement of injury with restriction and official clearance) to all of her coaches and the Athletic Office. We cannot allow any cheerleader to do anything beyond what her initial statement says until we have proper documentation.

Spirit Points - Addition to Cheerleading Policies & Guidelines 2018-2019 Contract
At our program meeting in August, a plan was not in place for what happens after a cheerleader loses three spirit points. The plan is now as follows:
- After losing three spirit points, each additional point lost results in sitting out of a game

Fall Tumbling Schedule Begins - Payment Due to Dana Thomas
The tumbling schedule for Fall has changed from what was originally communicated in May.
Varsity Competition Team Tumbling -- Tuesdays 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Pay $125 – Payment Due Tues Aug 28
Tumbling is not optional for competition team members. Attendance each week is mandatory.
Sideline Teams & MS Competition Team Tumbling -- Tuesdays 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
$12.50 per lesson - Payment Due at EACH class
OR... cheerleaders may commit to weekly attendance* and pay $125 – Payment Due Tues Aug 28
Tumbling is not mandatory for non-competition team members this 2018-2019 year. It is strongly encouraged by all coaches.
All payments to be made directly to Dana Thomas (not PRCPA)
* Dana has the right to determine whether actual attendance meets this requirement and adjust payment accordingly

Plan to pick up camp gear and other ordered cheer items on Tuesday, July 31st from 5:30 - 6:30 PM at the PRHS main entry. Competition team gear will also be distributed at this time.

Welcome Coach Berezo!
The Pine-Richland School Board has approved Nicole Berezo for Head Coach of the Pine-Richland Cheerleading Program. Coach Berezo is a 4th Grade Aquatics ELA & SS Teacher at Eden Hall Upper Elementary School. She sent an e-mail to her Varsity cheerleaders on Monday, July 16th and is looking forward to “hitting the ground running” in August.

Pine-Richland Athletic Department E-mail Regarding Community Meeting to Discuss Cheerleading Head Coach
"You're invited to a community meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018. The Pine-Richland Athletic Department will give an overview of the selection and hiring process for Pine-Richland High School Cheerleading Coach as well as what the district is looking for in a head coach who will lead their programs forward and represent PRSD with pride.
"The discussion will be held in the Pine-Richland High School Old LGI Room, which is located at 700 Warrendale Rd. in Gibsonia. Park in front of the building and enter through front doors. Walk toward library and make a right. The Old LGI doors will be on the left."
Note: This is not a PRCPA event. This meeting is being held by the Pine-Richland Athletic Department, which is responsible for hiring the new head coach.

Summer Tumbling for Sideline & Middle School Competition Teams
Beginning the week of June 11, 2018 through Summer, tumbling will no longer be held on Thursdays for these teams.
Sideline and Middle School Competition team members should attend tumbling with Dana on Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:30 PM.
This change is due to low attendance at Thursday sessions. As before, tumbling is strongly encouraged but not required. Summer tumbling lessons are $12.50 per lesson (check written out to Dana Thomas.)

$125 registration fee (per cheerleader)
$200 UCA camp and clothing/gear deposit (per cheerleader)
$50 concession stand fee (per family)
